WITH the countdown on with just six rounds remaining, competition in Tynedale Golf Club‘s Winter League is heating up.
Twenty-one players turned out for the latest round to gain league points, and it was Gary Brown who topped the field with a high score of 39 stableford points.
The race for second place was close and Tony Dance just pipped Mark Armstrong to the accolade on countback, after both carded 36 points.
Brown and Armstrong were in the money as they split the pot for securing birdies, the former on the eighth and the latter on the 17th.
