HEXHAM House moved a step closer to lifting the West Tyne League title by beating Haltwhistle 4-3 at home.

Haltwhistle played very well to win three rinks, but the fourth was such a big win for the home team that the overall shots margin was still 12 (71-59).

Elvaston beat Allen Valley 6-1 in the other match, and this week travel to Alston for the cup final.

There was no game in the Nines League for the Hexham club, but Elvaston Ladies moved out of the relegation zone in the with a 10-2 win over lowly Forest Hall.

Hexham House continued their move up the Nines table with a 6-2 win at Wallsend Park B. The Knight league team also had a good win (10-4) but they remain in mid-table.
