The Ministry of Defence has advised organisers Whickham and District Motor Club that operational exercises will take place at the ranges over the weekend.
That has led to the cancellation of Sunday’s race as no other suitable date was available.
However, organisers are adamant it will be business as usual next year.
A spokesman said: “We thank people for their understanding and we look forward to their continued support for the 2016 event.”
