A BIG year is expected at Hexham as the club celebrates its 125th anniversary.

The Spital Park club plans to mark its landmark year in style, and Michael Inglis (men’s), Jan Rossiter (women’s) and Daniel Del Prete (juniors), all pictured left, will captain their respective sections in 2017.

At nearby Tynedale , 24 pairs competed in the Motor Bodies competition, which was won by Mo Elliott and Jeff Shield with 48 points.

Dennis Orridge and Harry Teasdale (47) were a close second, just shading out Steve Davidson and Graeme Lauder (47) on countback.

It’s been a busy time at Bellingham where Alec Jones (73-5-68) won the Social Institute Trophy from Neil Skilbeck (83-14-69) and Ridley Nevin (77-6-71).

Jones (78-5-73) finished second in the Medal Championship Qualifier, sandwiched between the triumphant Johnny Armstrong (85-16-69) and Harry Varley (99-26-73).

Varley (35) then topped the Grand National Stableford as he edged out Jim Henderson (35) on countback, with Brian Hardon (34) a close third.

The trio of Pam Jack, Natalie Brown and Christine Robson (78-10-68) tasted victory in the Ladies Texas Scramble, with Rachel Batchelor, Gladys MacDonald and ladies’ captain Pat Hignett (83-14-69) second.
