WYLAM Rockettes U13 completed the Northumberland Girls’ League double as they have shared the league title with Tyne Valley neighbours Hexham U13 .

A week after lifting the League Cup, a hard fought 3-1 victory against a battling Burradon side saw them keep hold of their place joint on points with their rivals. Girl of the game Lottie Murphy scored twice and Rosie Bell once as they worked hard for the three points.

In a repeat scenario from last year, Wylam share the title with Hexham who ended their campaign with a big 6-1 win at Newcastle Westgate.

Star performer Emily Monnelly hit a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Megan Boyd and Jess Dancer.

Man of the match Marco Rea hit the back of the net four times as Prudhoe YC Rockets U12 defeated Redheugh Whites 5-2 in the Gateshead Youth League, the other goal a scorcher by Scott Keates.

Ponteland United Pythons U12 maintained their excellent form as a hat-trick from Owen Latimer, a double from Adam Newton and singles from Josh Eglon and Liam Brooks saw them end the season unbeaten.

They are now seeing out their Bridges campaign and were on fire as Sam Fairhurst scored three, Owen Latimer, Charlie Russell, Liam Brooks and Godwin Chickwem two each, and Josh Eglon the other.

Their Sunday side lost by the odd goal in five to Cramlington Whites in Pin Point League One despite a goal from Adam Newton and an own goal.

Two consecutive draws earned Hexham Whites U14 the points they needed to survive the drop from League Four. Defender Tom Watson starred in the goalless draw with Blyth Town, while man of the match Steven Heslop netted in the 1-1 draw with Red House Farm.

Keeping the team up was the last action from manager Joe Watson who is stepping down from the role, with any interested party asked to contact the club.
