IT’S becoming increasingly tight at the top of League Two, with Prudhoe YC Flames U12 keeping up the pressure on the top two.

A slender 3-2 victory over Blyth Rangers Deportivo kept the Youth Club side in contention for the league title, moving them eight points off leaders Throckley Magpies with two games in hand.

Second placed Whitley Bay BC Whites are two points clear, but have played an extra game than the Flames.

To help Prudhoe keep on the tails of their rivals, goals from Jack Stirk, Mason Pine and Thomas Eden earned them the three points.

Divisional rivals Ponteland United Munich U12 were unable to improve on their fifth position as they lost 3-0 at a strong Longhoughton Rangers, despite a man of the match display from Ryan Statham.

Prudhoe YC Reds U15 are still in the running for the League Five title, their chances boosted by putting four without reply past Whitley Bay BC Whites as they made the trip to the coast.

James Reay scored two and Theo Hayward and Nathan Dent one each, while defender Luke Pearson was named man of the match.

Josh Crossley was named star man for Ponteland United Panthers U1 4 as they lost at home to South Shields Santos in League One.

The ten men of Corbridge United U18 lost on their travels to Longhoughton Rangers in the Nigel Voules League, despite an impressive display from Liam Henderson.

Meanwhile, Corbridge United U15 went down 2-0 at Longhoughton in League Three.

A couple of quickfire victories sent Stocksfield U15 nine points clear at the top of the Durham County Premier League.

First off, they made light work of South Tyneside as Dan McGrane hit the back of the net four times and teammates Joe Crozier, Logan Fawcett and Luke Doneathey also netted.

Darlington were the next team to suffer the brunt of Stocksfield’s goalscoring prowess with Ben Ramsey leading the way with a hat-trick.

Dan Blewitt and Dan McGrane both hit doubles, with Fin Baty, Ben Milner and Logan Fawcett rounding off the scoring. Archie Wilson was named man of the match.

Hexham Hawks U12 earned a point as they shared 10 goals with hosts Tynemouth United Hornets in the North East Youth Development Premier League.
