IN a close encounter with Tyne Valley rivals Allendale U13 , it was Hexham Whites U13 who progressed to the next stage of the KO Cup.

Both teams created a number of chances, but it was Hexham from the division below who found their touch in front of goal to take the tie 2-0.

It was the best the Whites had played all season and they went ahead when man of match Will Lintin’s cross was volleyed home by Matthew Nesti.

Will then went on to wrap things up by reacting first to poke home Finn Kavangh’s free kick from close range.

Ronan Humphrey was Allendale’s star man but there were other fine performers with full back Archie White twice clearing off the line, centre forward Sebastian Alderson worked tirelessly and goalkeeper Ellis Bradley again impressed with some outstanding saves.

Corbridge United U13 also booked their place in the next round as a fantastic team performance saw them to a 5-1 victory over Tynemouth United Blues.

Both Angus Buchanan and George Graham scored twice, with Archie Horsted getting the other goal and Junior Dobson named man of the match.

Hexham Hornets U12 made cup progress too as two goals from Jack Maxwell and one from James Oakenfold earned them a 3-1 win over Forest Hall.
