IT’S tight at the top of the Championship with two Tynedale teams going for the NEYDL title.

Stocksfield U13 remain three points behind leaders Corbridge United U13 as two goals from man of the match Shay Carey and one each from Joe Jacobs and Mitchell Robson saw them to a 4-2 victory over Ashington Eagles.

It’s Corbridge who enjoy the slight advantage, maintaining their three point lead with victory over Killingworth YPC Galaxy.

In the Premier League, goalkeeper Ellis Bradley was again in good form as Allendale U13 lost to Newcastle City Juve. A hat-trick from Dan Connolly and doubles from Nelson DaSilva and Harry Davis, as well as a goal from James Little, saw Hexham Hunters U12 to victory over Wideopen Warriors in the Championship. Ollie Cave was man of the match.

Seth Robbie hit a consolation for Hexham Hawks U12 as they lost to Seahouses in the Premier League, while Jack Mason netted in the Hawks’ defeat to Heaton Hawks Kestrels. Jake Robson and Ben Wood won the respective man of the match awards.
