PRUDHOE YC Tigers U12 were denied a place in the Angels League Cup final as they lost out in extra time.

In an entertaining, end-to-end semi-finals tie with Felling Whites, they were level 3-3 after normal time before eventually going down 5-4.

Josh Maguire’s hat-trick and Thomas Clasper’s single wasn’t enough to book their place in the final, while Euan Maitland was star man for the Tigers.

Club counterparts Prudhoe YC Rockets U12 also exited at the semi-finals stage as they went down 3-1 to Beamish Colts. An Elliott Lowes goal sparked hopes of a comeback for Prudhoe but they couldn’t find another, while Kai Brown starred both in goal during the first half and outfield in the second.

Ponteland United Blacks U12 were denied a place in the Bridges League Cup final as they bowed out after losing 2-0 to Whickham in the semis despite the best efforts of man of the match goalkeeper Ben Donald.

Hexham U14 were in fine form as they defeated Newcastle Westgate in the Angels Division.

Man of the match Vinne Styles scored three and Jake Scott and Hary Murray two each, while Harry Furness and Ben Doughty also registered.

It followed a 1-1 draw with Redheugh Reds in midweek, Harry Murray getting their goal and defender Harry Furness named star man.

Prudhoe Town U14 , meanwhile, lost out to Whickham Fellside Yellows.

Strikes from man of the match Josh Pilkington, Scott Keates and Aaron Hart earned Prudhoe YC Rockets U13 a point in their thrilling 3-3 draw with Burnopfield.

Prudhoe YC Galaxy U13 picked up a point too as they and Winlaton played out a goalless draw, Bradley Powton named their star man.

There was a big victory for Ponteland United Blues U13 , though, as they defeated Redheugh Blacks.

James Reay was on target and Marcus Chan man of the match, but it was in consolation as Prudhoe YC Rockets U15 lost 3-1 to Whickham in the Angels Division.
