INTRODUCED from the bench, substitute Gary Pigg popped up with a last minute equaliser to keep Barrasford third in the table.

Trailing 2-1 to Prudhoe Town, the replacement produced the late goal which earned his side a big point with little separating teams fighting for the place behind the top two.

Owen Murtough scored the other Barrasford goal, while Will Forsyth was man of the match. Sixteen-year-old Luke Banks maintained his great start to adult football for Prudhoe by netting his 12th league goal of the campaign as he was joined on the scoresheet by teammate Josh Brooks. Scott Douglas was named star man.

The race for third spot continues to heat up with Prudhoe Town playing host to second-placed Heddon St Andrew’s at the weekend, while Prudhoe Social Club head to Hexham Phoenix looking to keep in contention too.

Glen Tweddle shot himself to the top of the Division Two goalscoring charts, helping Hexhamshire move off second bottom in the process.

His two goals in the 4-1 victory over Rose and Crown Bellingham took him to 17 league goals for the campaign, with teammate Alex Martin also scoring a brace during the triumph.

They didn’t have it all their own way though, with goalkeeper Grant Bowman being kept busy during a man of the match display.
