HEXHAM Greens U13 manager Joe Speed was given a round of applause by the opposition after a moment of great sportsmanship.

With his side leading Monkseaton in the Premier League, the gaffer reduced his team to 10 players when their visitors were forced to the same number due to injury.

It was a touch of class and earned a lot of credit from the travelling contingent from Monkseaton, who watched on as two goals from Dan Simpson and one apiece from Niall Buchanan, Matthew Kilby and man of the match Adam Newton earned Hexham the 5-1 success.

Allendale U13 had Archie White in impressive form despite losing on their travels to Whitley Bay BC Blacks.

Stocksfield U13 are the new leaders of the Championship as a hat-trick from Shay Carey, a double from Freddie Marr and a single from Nicholas Beatty saw them to a 6-1 win over Red House Farm Swifts. Matthew Parkes was their star man.

Neighbours Corbridge United U13 are just one point behind as they maintained their great form with a 4-2 win at Throckley Magpies Inter, their goals coming from Finlay Marsden, Angus Buchanan, George Graham and Archie Horsted, with Alfie Twelftree man of the match.

Hexham Whites U13 defeated Tynemouth United Blues by the same margin.

Jake Robson hit a consolation and Seth Robbie was man of the match as Hexham Hawks U12 lost to Monkseaton in the Premier League, while Hexham Hornets U12 returned from Cullercoats with three Championship points.
