FOOTBALL: SHOWING guts to bounce back after two defeats to the same opposition, Prudhoe YC Blues U12 won the Scarborough Tournament for the sixth year running.
Having gone down 2-0 and 1-0 to East Riding’s Sproatley Juniors in the group stage, Prudhoe got their revenge when the sides met in the final after the top two progressed.
It was over to Jake Howdon and Jake Lynch to register the goals which saw the Tyne Valley side continue their dominance in the high standard junior competition.
There was further success for the Youth Club as their U15 Reds side finished top of the pile in the South Tyneside League in their debut season in the contest.
They guaranteed the success by ending with an 11-game winning sequence, earning them the title by six points from runners-up South Shields United Blues.
