NOT even a thumping 8-1 victory on the final day could secure the Division Two title for Ryton Country House .

The KO Cup champions went into their game with Rose and Crown Bellingham needing to win by 18 goals or more to pip Haydon Bridge Anchor to the crown on goal difference, however, they had to settle for second spot despite finding the back of the net at regular intervals. Adam Bell and Jordan Martlew both hit hat-tricks, and Liam Goodwin and Tommy Tams got one each, but they go up to Division One as runners-up despite being tied on points with Bridge.

Marc Nixon was in red hot form as he guided Barrasford to the Mick Simmons Trophy. During a man of the match performance, he hit five goals as the Robins defeated Division One runners-up Heddon St Andrew’s 6-3 in the final. Will Forsyth got the other.

Haltwhistle Jubilee signed off their Sunday League experience with a 4-0 victory in a midweek rehearsal of Sunday’s League Cup final with Hexham Phoenix .

Dan Kirkup scored twice and Shaun Johnstone and Greg Irwin once each, with Mark Elliott named man of the match.
