STRIKER Rob Hayes was in ruthless form in front of goal as his double hat-trick saw Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons stroll into the quarter-finals of the President's Cup.

During a man of the match display, his six goals guided Mill to a convincing 11-2 victory over Rose and Crown Bellingham of the division below.

Teammates Neil McDonald (2), Ricky Hayes, Sam Austin and Jack Currah also registered, with Bellingham's star man Callum Hignett hitting both goals in reply.

Hexham Phoenix disposed of Division Two's Hexhamshire as they had six different scorers in their 6-3 triumph.

In league action, Ryton Country House picked up their first points in Division One as they came from behind to defeat fellow promoted side Haydon Bridge Ancho r 3-1.

Craig Stobbs, Adam Bell and Chris Chapman fired them to three points, with Martin Smith impressing throughout. Paul Wilson had given Bridge an early lead but they were unable to hold on despite a man of the match display from Kieran MacMillan.

A hat-trick from man of the match Adie Sutcliffe helped Prudhoe Town to a 5-2 victory over Heddon St Andrew's .

Josh Brooks and Martin Nugent got the others, with Heddon man of the match Dan Fleming notching to go alongside an own goal.

A great strike from Tom Waugh proved the difference for Prudhoe Town East End as they shaded the only game in Division Two.

His was the only goal of the game as they defeated hosts Wylam Black Bull , despite debutant goalkeeper Jack Walker excelling. Jack Johnson was named Prudhoe's man of the match.
