Although he was pipped to the man of the match accolade by impressive teammate Lee Blackburn, it was the wing man’s attacking intent which saw them pick up three points on their return to league action against Willington Quay Saints following two cup ties.
He got his side rolling on the way to a 3-1 victory when he stepped up to take a free kick from 20 yards, blasting his set piece low and into the bottom corner to give the Willington keeper no chance.
The free kick came from a mazy run from Blackburn who skipped past three men and poured forward before being crudely brought down. Robinson turned creator as Prudhoe extended their lead, his free kick drove in low which the goalkeeper could only parry into the path of Sam Brown who shot home from close range.
The all-important third goal came during a dominant second half display, again coming from a free kick after Jordan Phillips was felled on the edge of the box. Robinson duly stepped forward and found the net again with the aid of a deflection from the Willington wall.
