OVERTURNING an early deficit, Queen Elizabeth High School won the Blake County Cup for the first time in the competition's 105-year history.
The Hexham pupils came from behind to defeat King Edward VI, of Morpeth, 2-1 in the nail biting final of the Northumberland schools competition.
In a competitive game, it was KEVI who gained the upper hand as a deflected shot left the Hexham goalkeeper wrong footed.
However, QEHS roared back and were on level terms before the half time whistle when Seth Kippax-Jones found the back of the net.
The same player proved the match winner when, after both teams created chances, he sent home the winner after being set up by teammate Sam Douglas.
