WITH Matty Pugh finding the back of the net twice, Corbridge United U16 have enjoyed a good start to the new Pin Point Recruitment season.

The man of the match‘s brace went alongside goals from Louis Youngman and Lance Urwin as they defeated Wideopen Wanderers 4-1 in League Four.

It followed a point on the opening day of the season, Jack Stewart and Finn McKendrick notching in the 2-2 draw with Red House Farm Storm. Richard Brooks was star man.

There were doubles from Jonny Bunney and Stephen Wilson as Prudhoe YC Reds U14 beat Cramlington 7-1 in League Six.

Joining them on the scoresheet was Kyle Bell, Nathan Dent and Matthew Nevin, while Luke Pearson was man of the match.

Haydon Bridge United U14 enjoyed bragging rights over Corbridge United U14 in League Three courtesy of a 5-2 triumph.

Hexham U18 were off to winning ways as goals from Brad Lowes, Alex Martin, Hamish Forsyth and man of the match Callum Duncan led them to a 4-1 win over Forest Hall in the Ray Knight League.

Prudhoe YC Blues U13 are unbeaten after three games in League Two as they followed up their opening day 2-2 draw by hitting five consecutively, defeating Monkseaton Reds 5-2 and then Blyth Town 5-1.

Owen Laitmer scored twice, Adam Newton once and Joe Ferguson was man of the match as Ponteland United Pythons U12 put three without reply past Whitley Bay BC in League One.

Following the success of last year’s U12 team, Otterburn has a new team at U11 level and they enjoyed a good opening day as they played Newbiggin Reds.

Club rivals Corbridge United U17 and Corbridge United Villa U17 shared the honours as they drew 1-1.

Prudhoe YC Galaxy U12 were off to a flyer in the Gateshead Youth League as four goal Jack Swinburn spearheaded a comfortable victory over Ponteland United Blues U12 . Owen Dent scored two and Brody Pusey and Liam Potts one each, with Bradley Powton man of the match.

Ponteland United Pythons U12 started with victory with Lewis Merrilees with three, Adam Newton two and Josh Eglon, Ollie Scott and Godwin Chickwem one apiece in their convincing win over Felling Blacks.
