THREE second half goals proved the difference as Prudhoe Town defeated a promising Seaham Red Star Reserves side.

In an entertaining end-to-end encounter between two teams looking to get the ball down and play attractive football, it was Town who showed their cards to claim the three points.

They opened the scoring in spectacular fashion when Liam Henderson hit a scorcher after receiving the ball from a great cross field pass.

Hosts Seaham refused to lie down though and were rewarded when Harry Thompson levelled before the break.

But they had no answer to Town’s three goals after the break, Kieran Barker’s outstanding volley to make it 2-1 the pick of the bunch as he left keeper Ross Cunningham with no chance.

Prudhoe kept up the pressure and they put the result beyond doubt with Arron Fletcher making it three, before Henderson rounded off the scoring with his second of the afternoon.

The three-goal margin may have been a bit harsh on an impressive Seaham side, but Prudhoe were happy to return to Northumberland with all three points which maintained their good run of form and lifted them up to 13th in the table.
