PRUDHOE Town were eliminated from the Alan Hood Cup despite leading in-form Coxhoe Athletic.

New signing Kosta Sada grabbed his second of the season as he broke the deadlock, but Town were unable to prevent Coxhoe from making it four wins from four for the season.

Prudhoe were pegged back on the stroke of half-time through man of the match Kyle Morris, and he netted again after the break to make it 3-1 either side of a strike from Chris Foster.

However, the game was back in the balance when Ste Forster reduced arrears and pulled Prudhoe back to within a goal. Yet it was Coxhoe who threw their hat into the second round draw, Morris completely his hat-trick from the penalty spot before Robert Thompson finished off the scoring in injury time.

Prudhoe played most of their midweek trip to Jarrow with 10 men after goalkeeper Liam Blair was red carded in the first half, the visitors’ view that it was somewhat of a harsh decision.

Despite going two goals behind, they dominated the second half but could only hit back with one goal as their search for a first win of the season continues.
