IT all came together perfectly for Prudhoe Town as they picked up their first points of the season in an emphatic 6-0 win over Windscale.

They were firing on all cylinders as they welcomed their Cumbrian opponents to Kimberly Park, man of the match Arron Fletcher leading the way with a well taken hat-trick.

The youngster has been playing an unfamiliar lone striker role in the opening games of the campaign, but the arrival of forward Lee Garwood has allowed him to revert to his more effective Number 10 role.

And the switch back to playing just behind the striker benefitted Town as he was excellent against Windscale, his goals proving pivotal to the win.

Garwood joined him on the scoresheet, with Luke Banks and Ste Forster also finding the back of the net.

Garwood’s brother Chris proved an instant hit as he made his debut for Town, the centre half winning everything in an eye-catching performance which saw him just pipped for the star man accolade.

The display against Windscale was a marked improvement on a disappointing day at the weekend, going down 3-2 at home to South Shields Reserves.

Trailing 2-0 at half time after a dismal showing, Prudhoe rallied after the break to draw level through goals from man of the match Forster and Michael Calvert.

However, they switched off again and were punished as Shields found a winner to deny Prudhoe anything from the contest.
