STRIKERS Godwin Chikwem and Lewis Merilees stung Ryton as they provided a potent dose for Ponteland United Pythons U12 .

After their opponents took an early lead, both Godwim and Lewis hit hat-tricks with Charlie Russell also netting as they helped themselves to three points in the Gateshead Youth League. Tristan Williams was star player.

Divisional rivals Prudhoe YC Rockets U12 maintained their good start to the season as Scott Keates, Cameron Kirkpatrick and Marco Rea registered in their 3-1 victory over Redheugh Blacks. Alexander Kirkpatrick was man of the match.

Similarly to their Gateshead Youth League counterparts, Ponteland United Pythons U12 had to bite back to earn victory in the Pin Point League Shield.

Three goals behind, they progressed after a 4-3 triumph courtesy of goals from Ollie Scott, Owen Latimer, Lewis Merrilees and Paddy Kendal, and a man of the match display from Sam Fairhurst.

Despite goals from Richard Brooks and man of the match Jack Stewart, Corbridge United U16 lost 3-2 to Blyth Spartans in League Four.

A rampant Wylam Rockettes U14 inflicted a heavy defeat on Cramlington United with Abby Brown scoring a hat-trick, girl of the game Laura O’Neill and Maisie James two apiece, and Emma Rankin and Emma Boaden singles.

Girl of the game Ellen Packham and Tanya Bewley grabbed consolation goals as Wylam Rockettes U16 went down to an excellent New Fordley team.

A star performance from Rosie Spragg could not stop Wylam Rockettes U15 losing 2-0 to Ponteland United U15, while Josie Fenwick was girl of the game as Wylam Rockettes U12 lost by three goals to Blyth Town.
