A DOUBLE from Lewis Loughhead keeps Hexham Phoenix top of the Hexham and District Sunday League as the title race goes down to the wire.

His two strikes earned the table toppers a narrow 2-1 win over Barrasford last night (26/04), Stephen Marsden named man of the match for the fourth time in the league this season. Gary Pigg was on target for Barrasford, who had Matt Wilson man of the match.

Haltwhistle Jubilee remain five points off with two games in hand, Dan Robinson scoring twice and man of the match Mark Robson and Jack Barker one each as they beat Prudhoe Town, best served by Martin Nugent, 4-0.
