AN INJURY time goal from Luke Parkinson earned Hexham a dramatic win in the Northern Alliance last night (27/04).
The midfielder struck right at the death to secure the dramatic 3-2 win over Gosforth Bohemians in Division One, adding to goals from Lewis Loughhead and Kurtis Harvey earlier in the match-up.
There was some debate about who got the goals, though, Parkinson originally credited with Harvey’s goal - while questions were also posed about whether the winner was his or an own goal!
In Division Two, Prudhoe YC Seniors were unable to find the breakthrough as they drew 0-0 with Cramlington United, David Scott named man of the match.
There was a late winner for Alston Moor Sports Club in the Crook and District League as they came from behind to defeat Stanhope Town Sports and Social Club 2-1. Jack Ellwood got the comeback on track, with top scorer Nathan Frazer finding the decisive goal two minutes from time.
Prudhoe Town continued their impressive form in the Wearside League, as they returned from sixth placed Hartlepool with a 2-1 victory. The scorers are to follow.
