FOOTBALL: FOR the past four weekends, the Ivor Gray Festival at Stocksfield has been hotly contested by representatives of the Tynedale Mini Soccer League.
With age groups from U7 to U10 battling it out with their local rivals, four fascinating competitions were played out.
The U9 teams were first up and penalties were needed to separate the teams, Stocksfield Scorpions edging out Throckley Magpies Inter in the shoot-out in the final.
Throckley Magpies went one better in the U10 equivalent, seeing off Hexham Hawks in the final.
Continuing the trend of runners-up one week, winners the next was Hexham Barca as they defeated Stocksfield Leopards in the U7 competition.
A successful four week spell was brought to a conclusion by Corbridge United, winning the U8 tournament, beating Hexham Porto in the final.
