EVEN the Thundercats were powerless to extinguish Prudhoe YC Flames U12 as they reached the quarter-finals of the county cup.

Prudhoe were on top form as they moved into the last eight of the Northumberland FA Cubs Cup, at the expense of Cramlington United Thundercats.

Oliver Cave scored twice and Thomas Eden and Daniel Ward one each in the 4-1 victory, while Mason Pine was named man of the match.

Corbridge United U17 extended their lead at the top of the third division of the Pin Point Recruitment Junior League as they had five different scorers in their 6-1 success over Wideopen.

Patrick Dryden kept his cool from 12 yards to send home two penalties, with teammates Nick Ryan, Matthew Percival, George Cook and Callum Dronfield also registering. Jamie Barnard was their star performer.

Rory Nicholson was Ponteland United Panthers U14’s star man as they lost at Newcastle City Milan in League One.

Prudhoe YC Reds U15 player Stephen Wilson enjoys playing against Cullercoats Whites, and again proved the match winner when the teams met in League Five.

Putting in a man of the match display, he scored both goals in the slender 2-1 victory to take his personal tally against the Whites to seven in the past three games.

Man of the match Matthew Lynn hit a consolation for Corbridge United U18 as they were eliminated from the Pin Point Challenge Shield, losing 5-1 at home to Longhoughton Rangers.

Stocksfield U15 remain top of the Durham County League as they returned from an enforced winter break by defeating Easington 6-1. Dan McGrane hit at hat-trick, and was joined on the scoresheet by Ben Ramsey, Dan Blewitt and Cal Armstrong.

Ponteland United Revolution U12 have local bragging rights after putting three goals without reply past Ponteland United Pride U12 when they met in the Bundesliga of the Northumberland Girls League. Girl of the game Suzy Shanks scored two and Louise Crozier got the other for Revolution, with Abigail Leiper starring for Pride.

In La Liga, a double from Anna Mason, and a star display from Holly Olsen, helped Ponteland United Crusaders U12 to a 2-2 draw with Bedlington Town Hawks.
