SAM Mannion capped an excellent team performance for Prudhoe YC Seniors when he curled home a free kick from 25 yards out.

Bending the ball over the ball and leaving the goalkeeper no chance, the man of the match's strike was the pick of the bunch as Prudhoe were brilliant in the 4-0 victory over Whitley Bay SC.

The goal rounded off the scoring, putting the icing on the cake as his top corner effort had the away goalkeeper clutching fresh air.

The victory puts Prudhoe just three points off second spot in Division Two, and with a game in hand of all the top top four teams, bar one.

They were dominant throughout the game as they kept hold of the ball for large spells, although it did take 40 minutes to find the breakthrough.

That goal came when Sam Dibb-Fuller applied a good finish to a great cross from Matty Robinson.

The lead was doubled five minutes into the second half when Mannion send a well taken header from a superb Dibb-Fuller cross past the goalkeeper, a great end to a fine flowing move.

The margin was at three on the hour when Jack Bell continued his good scoring run, tucking the ball at the second time of asking after his initial effort was saved.

They saved the best until last though, Mannion's set piece a touch of class to finish things off.
