PRUDHOE youngster George Honeyman took the plaudits as his first senior goal for Sunderland sent the Black Cats through to the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The former Prudhoe Youth Club junior scored the only goal which earned victory at Bury, rounding off a man of the match display in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The 22-year-old has impressed in both Sunderland's opening games this season, running captain Lee Cattermole close to the star man accolade in the opening Championship game with Derby County, again televised to millions.
The impressive midfielder collected a return pass from Joel Asoro before cleverly lifting the ball over the onrushing Bury goalkeeper, Joe Murphy, to settle the tie in the 69th minute, setting up a trip to Carlisle United.
