HAYDON Bridge United U15 weren’t able to stop League Four leaders Blackfyne from marching on.

Bridge fell four goals behind before making more of a game of it through strikes from Owen White and Ethan Dickinson, but they were unable to spoil their hosts’ title charge as it finished 5-2. Midfielder Joey Robson was named star man for the visitors.

Divisional rivals Ponteland United Pumas U14 had an unenjoyable trip to the coast as they were well beaten by hosts Whitley Bay BC Blacks.

A double from Cavan Scott and a single from Kieran Lee saw Prudhoe YC Yellows U16 edge out Newcastle Westgate United 3-2 in League Three. Bailey Turner was their star man.

Goals from Lance Urwin and George Cook, and a man of the match peformance from Callum Dronfield, saw Corbridge United U17 get their League Three Subsidiary campaign off to a winning start, finishing as 2-0 victors over Grainger Park.

Ponteland United Munich U12 were awarded the points in League Two when hosts Newcastle East End Blues failed to fulfil the fixture.

Meanwhle, Stocksfield Eagles U12 ended up without a point for their efforts during a high-scoring thriller with Berwick Rangers in League Four.

Stocksfield U14 kept up the pressure at the top of the Saturday League as two goals from Jake Lynch and one apiece from man of the match Joe Glenwright, Alex Buckle and Lewis Cant earned them a 5-2 triumph over Red House Farm.
