The dominant team in the Hexham and District Sunday League over the past five years have made the switch to the Tyneside Amateur League, and start their campaign on Saturday.
They will be looking to challenge for top honours and will have a task on their hands to knock last year’s champions Ponteland United Reserves off their perch.
United start their title defence with a home game with Killingworth YPC Cobras.
Saturday also marks the return of Northern Alliance football with Ponteland United’s first team looking to mount another assault on the Premier Division title. They head to AFC Newbiggin.
Wallington are hoping to build on last year’s position in the Premier and they start by playing host to Seaton Delaval.
Hexham have a great chance of gaining promotion from Division One after just missing out by one place last term, and they get under way with a home game with Gosforth Bohemians.
In Division Two, Prudhoe YC Seniors are a good shout for a top two finish, although they have to wait until Wednesday evening for their opener when they travel to the much fancied Blyth Spartans Reserves.
Alston Moor’s Crook and District League campaign starts with a home game with Wear Valley.
