THEIR past five seasons have been trophy laden, and now they're 90 minutes away from adding to their collection.

Haltwhistle Jubilee won 17 trophies in the Hexham and District Sunday League, including five consecutive league titles, from 2013 onwards and are now testing themselves on a Saturday afternoon as they prepare for their maiden campaign in the Tyneside Amateur League.

And they will warm up for the big kick off next month by contesting the Clayton Cup final after booking their place in Wednesday's showdown with Northern Alliance Premier Division side Ponteland United.

Halty will face Ponteland's reserves side during their league campaign, and will have a big ask on their hands to overcome their first team in pursuit of another piece of silverware.

They go into the final on the back of an unbeaten run in the group stages, although they did draw two of their three games.

With Kieran Robley adding to his goal which earned Haltwhistle a slender 1-0 victory over Winlaton Vulcans on Monday evening, he earned his side a crucial point against Hexham on Wednesday.

And with the team proving deadly from 12 yards to win all three penalty shoot-outs, they topped the group on eight points with Prudhoe YC Seniors next up on six points.

Prudhoe were held to a 0-0 draw by Winlaton on Wednesday as they picked up their first point of the campaign, denying Prudhoe progress as a victory by any scoreline would have been enough to send them through.

Yet it is the Jubilee from the west of the district looking to cause a shock as they head to Prudhoe High School for a 6.45pm kick off on Wednesday, in a game to be refereed by Connor Scott, assisted by John Chirnside and Paul Clark.
