USING the wind to good effect, Hexham Greens U12 came from behind at the break to defeat Monkseaton Blacks 3-1.

Trailing in the NEYDL Premiership with the wind against them, they turned the game on its head in the second half with Philippe King-Lewis, Josh Heslop and Will Burns securing the points for the Greens who had Harry Coldwell impressing.

With strong gales dictating play throughout, Corbridge United U12 lost to Red House Farm Eagles despite a man of the match display from Matt Smith.

Wark U12 also went down in the Premiership, Oliver Scott impressing in the defeat at home to Newcastle City Juve.

While Allendale Fireballs U12 played out a goalless draw with Killingworth YPC Spartans in the Championship, it was an entertaining game with Archie White driving Allendale on and goalkeeper Ellis Bradley and his defenders combining to keep out the opposition.

Meanwhile,  Stocksfield U12 lost 5-1 at home to Red House Farm Swifts.

Sporting Stocksfield U14 maintained their title challenge form with a 2-0 win over Killingworth YPC Storm, the goals coming from Daniel McGrane and Luke Doneathy with Archie Wilson star man.

Jack Hackett, Joseph Dawson and Conner Terry netted as Ponteland United Pumas U15 defeated Killingworth YPC Rockets 3-0. Stefan Clough was man of the match.

Jake Shipley scored and Alex Heppell was man of the match as Haltwhistle United U15 lost to Killingworth YPC Rockets, while Hexham U15 lost 3-0 at Hazlerigg.
