TRAILING 5-1 early in the second half, Prudhoe YC Galaxy U13 produced a heroic comeback to take all three points.

Up against Blaydon Community in the Gateshead Youth League, they looked dead and buried as all they had was a Ben Ellison goal to their name as they shipped in five.

However, a fantastic final 20 minute spell saw them turn the game on its head as man of the match Bradley Powton kickstarted the comeback before Jack Swinburn pulled his side to within a goal with two quickfire goals.

Bradley levelled things with five minutes to go, before Swinburn proved to be a right Jack in the box as a further rapid double secured all three points at the death.

It was more straight forward for Prudhoe YC Tigers U12 as they inflicted a heavy defeat on Felling Greys. Zak Campbell hit a hat-trick and Nathan Kennington a brace, with man of the match Euan Maitland, George Medd and Thomas Clasper also netting.

Back-to-back victories kept Hexham Greens U13 in contention for the North East Youth Development Premier League title.

Alex Waters scored three and Adam Newton and Kian McKinnell two each as they came from behind to defeat Whitley Bay BC Blacks, Matthew Kilby also impressing.

Hexham had earlier defeated Tyne Valley rivals Allendale U13 , who fought bravely as they were reduced to 10 players for nearly an hour due to injury, with goalkeeper Ellis Bradley named their star man.

The points belonged to the table toppers, though, as man of the match Kian McKinnell, Harry Coldwell, Toby Ferguson, Shay Dickinson, Mathew Kilby and Adam Newton all found the back of the net. However, the goal of the game was scored by Allendale’s Archie White as he thundered an unstoppable effort past Hexham’s impressive keeper James Hare.

Ellis Bradley was again Allendale’s man of the match as they lost to Monkseaton, Jake Reed with a fantastic goal for Allendale.

Two goals from man of the match Nelson Da Silva and one each from Ben Archer and Alfie Brown guided Hexham Hunters U12 to a 4-2 victory over Forest Hall Lions in the Championship.

Despite only having 10 players available, Prudhoe YC Reds U15 kept up their Pin Point Recruitment League Five promotion charge with a 3-1 victory at Cullercoats Whites.

James Reay scored twice, one goal coming from the halfway line, and Nathan Dent the other, with Tom Johnson named star man.

Hexham U13 were edged out by Northumberland Girls League high flyers Morpeth Town, Josie Cawood and Jelly Dixon hitting Hexham’s goals in the 3-2 defeat. Hannah Johnson was named their star player.
