PRUDHOE Social Club got their campaign off to an eye-catching start as they defeated Hexham Phoenix 7-1.

Man of the match James Curry scored twice, and Matty Fothergill, Stefan Rainbow, Jordan Phillips, Sam Mannion and Michael Robinson also netted during the convincing victory.

It was a disappointing day for Phoenix following their vital win over Heddon St Andrew's on the opening day, Kurtis Harvey getting their goal and Stephen Marsden named star man.

Sam Moore was the toast of Prudhoe Town as he struck all four of his side's goals during an impressive display against Ryton Country House . He spearheaded the 4-0 victory against a Ryton side best served by Michael Oliver.

Two goals from Greg Irwin and one each from Neil McDonald and Jack Currah saw Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons to a 4-2 victory over neighbours Haydon Bridge Anchor . Man of the match Dan Alexander and Phil Tipple registered for Bridge.

Two goals from man of the match Ross Bailey helped Heddon St Andrew's to a point at Barrasford , with the hosts' man of the match Will Forsyth and Gary Nixon getting their goals in the 2-2 draw.

Two wonder strikes from Robert Morris, one from his own half and the other from 30 yards, saw Crawcrook Fox and Hounds to a slender 2-1 win over Prudhoe Town East End .

Dan Graham netted from the spot for Town, who had Brad Rodgers man of the match. Ben Coulson earned the accolade for Fox.

Hexhamshire continue to set the early pace in Division Two as they made it nine points from their opening three games, the much improved side defeating Wylam Black Bull 3-1.

Alex Tait struck twice and Glen Tweddle once, while Nick Coward was star man, with Freddie Allan replying for Wylam, who had Corey McLauchlan impressing.

James Pattison's hat-trick helped Ponteland Village defeat Haltwhistle Railway 5-2. Ryan Spragg and Callum Thompson were also on target, while goalkeeper Michael Jobson was named man of the match.
