A HEADED goal from defender Gavin Cox sent Haltwhistle Jubilee into the final of the President’s Cup.

His goal was the only one during a drab encounter with visitors Prudhoe Social Club, setting up a ‘top versus top’ showdown in the final as the Division One pacesetters will play Division Two leaders Ryton Social Club .

Ryan Potts was named Haltwhistle’s star man, with Michael Gilroy earning Prudhoe’s accolade.

Ryton got their revenge on title rivals Haydon Bridge Anchor as a brace from man of the match Jada James saw them to a 2-0 victory in the semi-finals of the Division Two KO Cup. Kev MacDonald was named Bridge’s star man.

Prudhoe Town East End await them in the final as they booked their place in the final in their debut season after edging out Rose and Crown Bellingham in a 13-goal thriller!

In Division One, Rob Hayes was on top form as the man of the match hit four goals in Bardon Mill Bowes Lyons’ 7-3 victory over Hexham Hearts .

Jamie Ellwood scored two and Ryan Morris one for Mill, with Tom North, Duncan Scott and Mark Stobbart replying for Hearts, who were best served by Jordan Teasdale.

Ponteland Village and Crawcrook Fox and Hounds shared four goals in Division Two, with strikes from Rikki Kent and Josh Turner cancelling out a double from Ponteland’s James Pattison.

Dan Storey was Crawcrook’s man of the match, with goalkeeper Michael Jobson, who saved a penalty, pick of the bunch for hosts Ponteland.

With star man Freddie Allan and Scott Turley both hitting four, Adam and Eve Prudhoe reached double figures in their convincing victory over Hexhamshire in Division B of the Mick Simmons Trophy.

With Corey McLauchlan, Cam Hall and Peter Walker also registering, they recorded an 11-3 triumph over their hosts.

Glen Tweddle scored twice and Evan Goldsborough once for Prudhoe, with Lewis Short named man of the match.

The Mick Simmons clash between Division Two rivals Haltwhistle Railway and Ponteland United Stamfordham and the all-Division One match-up between hosts Barrasford and Prudhoe Town were postponed.
