THE winner takes all when the top two in the Hexham and District Sunday League meet on the final day of the season this weekend.

Leaders Haltwhistle Jubilee host second-placed Hexham Phoenix on Sunday enjoying the slight advantage of a point with the destination of the title to be decided on the day.

Haltwhistle kept their noses in front as man of the match Dan Robinson struck all three goals in the 3-0 win over Prudhoe Social Club last night (10/05). Shaun Sagar was named man of the match for the home side.

Phoenix remain in with a shout as they beat Phoenix Chopwell 3-1 courtesy of strikes from Luke Parkinson, Andy Crawford and James Stokoe, and a man of the match display from Lewis Loughhead. For Chopwell, Chris Bivona netted and Nikki Shepherd was star man.

Ryton Social Club are out of the running for promotion from Division Two as champions Heddon St Andrew's ended their season unbeaten, man of the match Richard Harrison and Jamie Lishman scoring in the 2-0 success despite Ryton goalkeeper Freddie Chambers impressing.

Haydon Bridge Anchor need six points from their remaining two games to pip Hexham Hearts to second spot, their cause helped as a Kieran Robley hat-trick helped them to a 5-1 win over Hexhamshire.

Dan Alexander and Phil McDonnell were also on target, while Kev MacDonald was again named man of the match, with Phil Tipple registering for 'Shire who were best served by Nick Coward.
