Charlie Russell netted as Ponteland United Pythons U12 drew 1-1 with Montagu Blues in League One, before the side lost 3-0 to Montagu Blues. Josh Eglon was United’s star man in both encounters.

The team are faring much better on a Saturday in the Gateshead Youth League, and a double from Godwin Chikwem and singles from Adam Newton and Owen Latimer saw them defeat Redheugh Reds 4-0.

Godwin also got two and Adam one to go with a strike from man of the match Charlie Russell as they defeated Prudhoe YC Galaxy U12 4-1.

There was a mixed bag for Prudhoe YC Rockets U12 as they bounced back from a defeat to Tyneside Pumas to defeat Craghead 6-1.

Man of the match Marco Rea hit a hat-trick and Scott Keates, Kieran Storey and captain Aaron Hart also netted, with Marco again starring as he and Scott scored in the Tyneside reversal.

Wylam Rockettes U13 claimed the Northumberland Girls League Cup in style with an assured 3-0 victory in the final over a battling Westgate, girl of the game Lottie Murphy catching the eye with all three goals.

Wylam Rockettes U14 lost their final league match of the season by the only goal to Heaton Hawks, despite Izzy Flynn starring for Wylam.
