A WINNER four minutes from time from Courtney Peel saw Wylam Rockettes U14 come out on top of a close game with Alnwick Town.

Hannah Dodgeon struck twice to put Wylam ahead after going behind to an early goal, but it looked likely that both sides would earn a point until Courtney calmly executed the late decider.

Ellie Wright starred for Hexham U14 as they went down to Newcastle Benfield, while Josie Cawood was Hexham U13’s star player in their defeat to Morpeth Town.

There was a first clean sheet for Wylam Rockettes U13 as they put four past Montagu and North Fenham, girl of the game Stacey Billinghurst hitting a hat-trick and Josie Fenwick getting the other.

Wylam Rockettes U15 ran riot in their victory over Cramlington United, Molly Hails and Ruth Owen bagging braces, and girl of the game Chloe Richardson and Laura O’Neill also notching.

Wylam Rockettes U12 were unfortunate to go down to the single goal again as a strike from girl of the game Grace Owen was in consolation in the 2-1 loss to Swalwell Swifts.

Ellie Short found the back of the net and Maia Gray was star player for Haltwhistle United U18 in their defeat to Walbottle.
