DISCUSSIONS on how to communicate with volunteer linesmen, captains and spectators will take place at the next Hexham Referees' Association branch meeting.
The branch will meet at The County Hotel, in Hexham, on Tuesday, September 12, at 7.15pm.
The main topic open for discussion will be how referees in the area communicate with both sets of teams, asking the questions: 'what do you say when you are briefing your club linesmen or assistant referees before the game starts?’, ‘what do you say when you meet the two captains at the halfway line?’ and ‘how do you deal with those dreaded calls from the touchline?’
In addition, there will be a fun, interactive quiz asking what you would do 'If you were the referee', and information on the law changes in the game.
