A FIVE minute brace from Abby Brown saw Wylam Rockettes U14 claw back the points.

Trailing 1-0 at the break to Whitley Bay, Abby’s double after the break gave Wylam the lead their play deserved.

With the Rockettes on top, they finished slightly ahead with Emma Boaden unlucky to see her strike hit the post right at the death.

Going behind after 10 seconds, Wylam Rockettes U15 had an uphill task when they went head-to-head with Newcastle East End. An under-strength Wylam Rockettes U13 side lost to Blyth Town with Annie Anderson getting their sole goal, while Ellen Packham netted and Becky Lynch was girl of the game as Wylam Rockettes U16 lost heavily to Bedlington Town Wildcats.

Hexham U18 maintained their great start to the season as they thumped Ashington Community U17 to progress in the JustSport Sunday Junior Cup. Prudhoe YC Rockets U12 lost for the first time this season in the Gateshead Youth League as they went down 3-0 to Ryton despite a star performance from Marco Rea.

They started their campaign with a 1-1 draw with Blaydon, Marco scoring and Dominic Burn man of the match, before defeating Ponteland United Blues U12 4-2 with Marco again impressing by bagging all four.
