BARDON Mill Bowes Lyons came from behind to boost their chances of catching the teams above them in the table.

Playing the opening half hour with 10 men, they trailed to bottom side Hexham Hearts before turning the game on its head and recording a 5-2 victory.

Leading scorer Rob Hayes struck twice, and Adam Walton, Adam Dickson and John Armstrong all got one each to move Mill, best served by centre half Jack Currah, five points off sixth spot with four games in hand.

For Hearts, James Yeend and Mark Stobbart netted, while Jordan Teasdale was man of the match.

Marc Nixon hit a hat-trick to earn Barrasford all three points, moving his side up to third in the table in the process.

He scored all three of his side’s goals in the slender 3-2 victory at Hexham Phoenix, who had Kurtis Harvey and Luke Parkinson on target. Nixon was overlooked for the man of the match award in favour of teammate Andy Richardson, while Tom Hacking was named Hexham’s star man.

Heddon St Andrew’s remain level on points at the top after their narrow 2-1 victory in a close-run game with Prudhoe Social Club .

Dan Walker and Sean Hownam got their goals and Ross Bailey was named man of the match, with Stefan Rainbow replying for Social, who had Michael Gilroy starring.

But champions Haltwhistle Jubilee remain in the driving seat as they put four goals past Prudhoe Town , man of the match Dan Parker scoring twice and Mark Robson and Greg Irwin one each. For Town, Reece Davies was named star man.

Ryton Country Hotel stretched their lead at the top of Division Two, as a hard fought 4-3 success at Ponteland United Stamfordham moved them three points clear.

Man of the match Adam Bell, Chris Chapman, Jordan Martlew and Martin Smith got their goals as a hat-trick from Stamfordham’s man of the match Matty Robinson proved in vain.

The victory was made all that sweeter in the knowledge that title contenders Haydon Bridge Anchor and Haltwhistle Railway Hotel both dropped points in respective draws.

A treble from man of the match David Bambrough saw Ponteland Village , who played the entire 90 minutes with just 10 men, hold Anchor to a 3-3 draw.

Kieran MacMillan scored two and Kieran Robley one for the Bridge, best served by new signing Abdullah Rashid, but it wasn’t enough for all three points.

Man of the match Max Tordoff and Lee Blackburn were on target as Adam and Eve Prudhoe drew 2-2 with Railway, Mark Banks and Lewis Weeks netting for the hosts who had Mark Storey named man of the match.

Nick Coward starred for a makeshift Hexhamshire side as they shipped in eight unanswered goals to Prudhoe Town East End .
