HALTWHISTLE Jubilee moved into the last four of the Tyneside Amateur Challenge Shield with a 5-1 win at Newcastle Chemfica Amateurs.

James Charteries gave Jubilee the lead in the first half, with Mark Robson doubling it after the break.

Man of the match Aaron Thirtle and Jack Barker added to their tally before Jamie Anderson’s consolation strike.

There was still time for Norman Calvert to add a fifth for Haltwhistle before the end, earning them a semi-final tie at Stobwood Welfare, with Ellington hosting West Jesmond in the other.

Jubilee are in come action again this weekend, with a home quarter final tie in the Northumberland County Minor Cup against Newbiggin.

Stobswood Welfare maintained their 100 per cent winning record in league cup matches this season after breaking down the stubborn resistance of Morpeth Town Seniors to eventually run out 3-0 winners in the Neville Cowey Cup Quarter Final. Phil Airey, Jake Baker and Craig Muter were their goalscorers as they ensured their berth against Ellington in the semis, with Gosforth Bohemian Reserves drawn against Jesmond FC in the second tie.

Ellington triumphed 5-2 against West Jesmond as the sides met in the league. Liam Thompson netted twice for Ellington, with Lee Messenger, Jordan Lashley and Adam Bains also netting. Jack Stevens and new signing Jermaine Francis scored for West Jesmond.

Second-placed Forest Hall beat Newbiggin Hall Vettic 12-0, with Jack Fishburn and Jonathan Irvine both scoring four times, and their other goals coming from Josh Tiexiera, Lewis Cairns, Keiran Crawford and Anthony Broughton.

Jesmond FC ground out a single goal victory at Newcastle Medicals, with Adam Duckworth scoring against his former club.

Ponteland United Reserves secured a 3-1 win at Killingworth YPC Cobras, despite a Kyle Stocks goal.

Conor Brumwell, Joe Bell and Kieran Gardner earned the three points for Ponteland.

Basement side Wideopen and District A were beaten 5-0 by Gosforth Bohemian Reserves. Pete Hall bagged a brace for Bohs, with their other counters scored by Luke Coyle, Josh Robson and Jonny Morgan.
