A LAST minute winner sent P onteland United Pride U13 into the semi-finals of the Northumberland Girls League Trophy semi-finals.

Wylam Rockettes U13 had fought back from three goals down and looked set to take the game to extra time, before Ponteland, inspired by girl of the game Suzy Shanks, produced the last gasp decider.

A double from girl of the game Charlotte Graham and a third from Molly Pigg saw Wylam level after being three down at the break, but their hearts were broken as they fell just short.

Ponteland United Crusaders U13 had no such problems as they breezed into the final four of the League Cup.

Star player Tori Almond scored four, Leah Maughan two and Olivia Miller one as they defeated Wallsend BC 7-1.

Ponteland United Revolution U13 made it through to the semis too as an extra time victory saw them see off the challenge of Morpeth. Girl of the game Ava Chapman and Amber Mayers got the vital goals in the 2-1 triumph.

Ponteland United U15 had goalkeeper Ella Morton to thank for sending them through to the final at the expense of second placed Forest Hall, Ella pulling off a crucial save to secure a 2-1 win in their penalty shoot-out.

United were set to crash out as Hall made it 3-2 in extra time, until Sophie Ray struck an equaliser from outside the box right at the death. Aimee Wood and Fay Scott had scored in normal time for United as it finished 2-2.

Josie Fenwick ran the show for Wylam Rockettes U14 as they won their Tyne Valley derby with Hexham U14 . Josie Cawood hit a consolation for Hexham, who had Nell Foster starring as girl of the game.
