A CHARITY football match in honour of football legend Bob Stokoe will take place in Prudhoe for the second consecutive year.
A Prudhoe United team will take on Sunderland U23s at Kimberly Park, on Friday, May 4.
The match will once again raise funds for Prudhoe-based children’s hospital Ferndene.
Last year’s event attracted a crowd of more than 700 people, who watched the town’s amateur players take on Sunderland’s young professionals.
Guest of honour was former Sunderland goalkeeper Jimmy Montgomery, a star performer in the club’s 1793 FA Cup final victory over Leeds United.
Mickley-born Stokoe was Sunderland’s manager during the famous win.
Tickets are available from Ferdene, Prudhoe Town Community Centre, and the Prudhoe Town Council Centre.
