HEXHAM Leazes II turned to a 11-year-old debutant to help them pick up maximum points in Division Two of the West Tyne League.

Young Edward Foreman (5-39), a junior with Tynedale, shone on his first senior appearance as he took five wickets to guide Leazes to a 58 run success over Medomsley .

After Tim Willis (2-20) and Trevor Holmes (3-41) had cliaimed victims, it was over to Edward to rip through the bottom order as he finished the game at the beginning of his 12th over.

Medomsley put up a fight with captain Mark Charlton (75) and former Stocksfield man Stephen Page (43) helping them past the 100 mark, only for the momentum to be disrupted by the change of bowlers.

Leazes' total of 223 proved out of reach of their guests, Rob Wilis carrying his bat throughout but running out of time before reaching his century, with Trevor Crosby making his half ton.

With Mark Jacobs (18) offering good support to Baron at the crease, Stocksfield got off to a flyer and were 62-1 after just six overs.

Mark Terry (1-4) and Thomas Stokoe (4-47) helped curtail the run rate, with Kiel Zurawlew (4-46) inflicting some damage later in the order.

However, Baron stole the show with his spin as only Gavin Howdon (35) and Stokoe (34) managed good knocks for Corbridge.
