CORBRIDGE couldn't contain the fire power of Warkworth as they slumped to a heavy defeat.

Their hosts racked up some big scores on their way to an imposing total of 281, a total way out of reach of Corbridge's order.

Scott Gibson and Adam Hall's third wicket stand of 173 took the game away from their guests, Gibson including 10 fours and a six in his total and Hall with just one less four.

Gibson and Stephen Dargue put on an opening stand of 36 before teenager Corey Dover struck to trap Dargue lbw, with father Andy Dover seeing Rory Wilson off for a three ball duck when caught by Chris Fowler.

From 38-2, Warkworth hurried their way to 211 with Hall and Gibson both caught by Chris Sewell off Fowler's bowlings in quick succession.

Mark Robson and Chris Glass added 57 to take the score to 270, with both becoming victims to the bowling of Russell Perry, either side of the wicket of Steven Anderson.

David Cook and Dave Smurthwaite put on 15 before the former was bowled by Hall, with Fowler adding another 14 until he was caught by Hall, off the bowling of Jack Titterington who quickly followed it up by bowling Marcus Sewell.

Smurthwaite and Corey Dover doubled the score to 62 but fell within quick succession, both victims to Dargue. The wickets continued to tumble with Andy Dover and Perry also seen off by Dargue.

Dean Robinson and Graeme Tiffin steadied the ship to get Corbridge past 100, their 37 run partnership ending with Robinson being bowled by Wilson.

Tiffin suffered the same fate with Chris Sewell then bowled by Hall to leave Corbridge 142 runs off their rivals.
