WARK‘S opening bowlers ripped through Stocksfield IV’s batting order as they breezed to an emphatic 10 wicket success.

The pairing of Simon Jeffrey and Ryan Potts were the only bowlers required when the teams met, slamming through the wickets to end with five each to send their hosts crashing out on just 35 runs.

They needed just 17-and-a-half overs to complete their job to give the North Tyne side an easy target to aim for, opening batsmen Greg McConnell and Phil Suckling achieving it within six overs to ensure a quick turnaround.

Another bowler in red hot form was Medomsley captain Mark Charlton whose seven wickets maintained his team‘s promotion push.

Playing an integral role in limiting Belsay to 118 on a short ground, Charlton’s haul saw the home innings end in the 29th over.

While Medomsley struggled against a good opening spell from Dan Tait, Peter Thompson and Mark Shaw combined well for the third wicket stand before Liam McCallan fired his side to the 12 points alongside anchor Thompson.

Drubbings were the order of the day in Division Two and Haltwhistle II heaped further misery on basement side Humshaugh II as they bowled them all out for 55.

Jonny Wallace had Humshaugh struggling early on, and the arrival of Anthony White increased the pressure with six wickets.

Haltwhistle lost Philip Sheldon to Duncan Sewell in their reply, but captain Lewis Swallow was joined at the crease by Knox who took little time in knocking off the required runs.

With many of their players on first team duty, Hexham Leazes II only had nine players to call upon as they faced the daunting trip to second placed South Northumberland 1864 .

And their hosts showed little pity on them as they inflicted a 10 wicket thumping on them, the wickets shared around by Patrick Hatcher, Richard Clifford, Roshy Ali and Matthew Jennings as Leazes, who had Jamie Rossiter and David Park top scoring, ended on 39.

Ross Ward hit the lion share of the 40 runs required with 35, Keshav Krishnan acting as the anchor as they achieved their goal with 48 balls faced.

Likewise, leaders Newcastle III flexed their muscles over 10-player Corbridge Millers on their way to a nine wicket triumph.

Corbridge started well with good contributions from Mark Terry, David Cox and Joel Marks, but things started to turn sour as Jack Sinclair and Cope cranked up the heat.

Newcastle openers Finlay Pearce and Alistair Poll edged them towards their target, Cameron Pearce taking over the mantle when his brother was caught by Paul Terry off Clive Page.

Allendale II , who also had just 10 players, were all out for just 40 runs in their defeat to Mitford , opener Ford the only batsman to make double figures as Matthew Lees proved red hot with the ball.

Allendale‘s opening bowlers Kevin Philipson and James Percival made things tricky and removed three wickets.

But their innings score was too low to trouble Mitford who reached the target courtesy of Stephen Halbert and Jonny Acaster.

Wylam II are another team struggling for players due to first team commitments, and they conceded for the second week running to gift Mitford II 12 points.
