TYNEDALE made the final four of the Northumberland County Plate as they saw off a determined challenge from Allendale, by 15 runs.

With half centuries, Sam Mannion (60*) and Tom Cant (51) made an opening stand of 112 after only making a sluggish 16 runs from the first five overs of the Twenty20 competition.

When Cant was bowled by former Tynedale teammate Ross Laidlaw, James Rainford came in to partner Mannion and he hit a quick fire 25 runs to take the innings total to 149-1.

In reply, Tim Raglan scored 34 from 25 balls and his third wicket partnership of 33 with Laidlaw put his side in contention. However, his involvement ended when he played a high ball off the bowling of James Percival to the fine deep where Ed Foreman caught him.

Laidlaw looked dangerous having made 44 from 34 deliveries with four fours and a six, but he holed out to Mark Clark, off the bowling of Matthew Percival, with the score on 112-5.

Irregular bowler Mannion then came in and completed a fine night for him personally, removing Liam Pringle, Matty Scott and Geoff Sparke to finish with 3-13 and end Allendale's challenge at 134-7.
