IN wicket keeper Ross Atkinson, Corbridge Cricket Club possess a very safe pair of hands.

For he was named as the Premier Division’s wicket keeper of the year for 2015 at the annual Northumberland Cricket League end of season presentation evening with 23 victims to his name.

And how fitting should it be that special guest Paul Nixon, a former keeper capped by England, should be in situ to hand over the trophy.

Atkinson enjoyed a great year behind the stumps, and was crowned best all-round keeper.

To win him the title, he finished with a total of 15 catches was the division’s second highest individual claim, and his eight stumpings was third best. He also added one run out to the mix too.
