MAN of the match Adrian Marrison guided Stocksfield to the Paddlers Plate as they avoided the bite from Newcastle City Sharks.

Hitting five fours and three sixes on his way to 82 not out, Stocksfield put on 136-5 as the teams contested the competition as part of the North-East Midweek League. The Sharks were almost up with the run rate but fell short by just three runs with four wickets in hand, Ali Thirlwell (2-43) and son Rob (1-21) the pick of the bowlers with the teenager bowling the final over and crucially conceding just five runs
