STOCKSFIELD ended their home campaign with a convincing win over Bedlington.

Bowling their visitors all out for 139, they hurried to a six wicket victory in 26-and-a-half overs to claim a maximum 20 points.

The breakthrough for Stocksfield came about with the score on 25, Chris Younger caught behind by Dan Whiley off James Tolchard to get the ball rolling.

Bedlington opener Darren Leason was going well to tick the score on, but, when Emerson Brown bowled Michael Levison, Stocksfield were in command.

From 41-1, the visitors slumped 48-4 as Brown bowled Derek Shepherd and wicketkeeper Whiley took his second catch to give Ryan Chamberlain his first wicket.

Andrew Wood struck to remove Connor Leason, with Chamberlain claiming the big wicket of Darren Leason, caught by Tolchard, to take the score to 81-6.

Bedlington stuck in but Rob Thirlwell struck before Luke Doneathy inflicted the rest of the damage, claiming the final two wickets.

Ben Archer and Whiley got Stocksfield off to a good start with a 48 run partnership, before the former was caught for 27 from 34 deliveries.

Steven Henderson joined his skipper and they continued to attack, but the loss of Henderson and Tris Douglas in quick succession disrupted their flow.

Whiley was to be denied his half century when lbw a run short, but a patient Wood and a more attack minded Doneathy saw Stocksfield over the line.
